A man who goes by the online name ‘Brianna’ is one of the best known escorts on the internet, having amassed thousands of thousands of followers on the popular escort website Backpage.
Ms Brianna says the only thing she has to fear is being targeted online.
“When I say it’s going to be the internet I mean when someone gets on there and goes to check it out, they’re going to find the information,” she said.
“I’ve done a lot of research on it.”
And there are some people who are going to see my face and that’s going, ‘what’s this girl doing here?’
“When a man sees my profile, he goes, ‘Oh, that’s the guy I like’.”
Briannan has more than 12,000 followers on her Facebook page.
She has also posted on other websites including Reddit, Twitter and YouTube, where she is known as ‘Tayla’ or ‘Tanya’.
But she has also faced some criticism online.
In April, she posted a picture of herself wearing a “tattooed vagina” on Twitter.
“It’s a very hot subject right now,” Ms Brianna said.
Ms Bray said she had not received any threats or attacks, but that there was concern about the use of internet chat rooms.
“A lot of people have been very rude and disrespectful to me online and I’ve had people tell me I’m a ‘stupid bitch’ for posting a picture,” Ms Bray said.
The Federal Government has also been criticised for allowing escort services to operate without a licence.
Federal laws allow them to operate on private property, without a government licence.
Ms Bryon said she was not sure how much the Government would allow her to operate if it changed its stance.
“They have no idea what they’re doing,” she joked.
“What they’re trying to do is get rid of the legal framework that’s actually working to protect people.”
She said the Government was not looking to remove the legal protections for online escorting.
“We’re not going to change the laws.
We’re just going to look to see what happens next.”
