Phoenix escorts are accused of raping a young escort who claims to be one of the city’s most famous escorts.
The young escort, who did not want to be named, told The Associated Press that she and three other escorts went to a hotel on Sunday to meet with a client, and a few days later she said she was raped by one of them, according to a police report obtained by the AP.
The escort, a white male in his 30s, said she met him in an apartment complex, where they exchanged numbers and he was a customer, the report said.
The client told police he had been drinking, and when they got to the hotel room, he started raping her.
The other escorting girls said they also met the client there, but were not raped, the police report said, and they said the client was the only one to rape them.
The Associated Press has not independently confirmed the allegations.
The Associated National Press is not naming the escorts to protect the victims’ identities.
The Phoenix Escort Alliance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The police report does not indicate whether the client’s name was released or if it was the client, or any other members of the escorting group, who was arrested.
Phoenix police said they were investigating the case, but did not release the names of any of the suspects.
The AP has previously reported that Phoenix is a hotbed of sex trafficking.
In October 2016, a 16-year-old girl was arrested in the city for allegedly running a brothel, according the Phoenix Police Department.
The police department said the investigation showed the girl was a “sex worker” and had been “possessed by an adult” for two years.
The girl, who has not been identified, is now facing charges of prostitution and pandering to minors.
