Posted November 08, 2018 09:04:15 A Texas escort with more than 20 years experience has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk and killing a 19-year-old man after a night of partying with her.
The woman, whose name has not been released by authorities, faces three counts of aggravated intoxication manslaughter.
A booking photo shows Amanda Lee Latham at a Houston bar in January 2017.
The Harris County district attorney’s office said Wednesday that Latham will appear in court on Thursday.
A friend of Latham’s who was in the bar with her said Latham, who was 19 at the time of the accident, told her to stop dancing and hit her head.
“She hit her friend in the head,” the friend said.
“Then she said, ‘I’m going to kill him,’ and started walking away.”
Latham told police she was under the influence of a drug or alcohol.
She told police that she took a breathalyzer test and “found it was 0.25 percent.”
The friend said Lacey told her that she was “acting crazy” and “going crazy.”
The girl was taken to a hospital where he died.
The death has reignited a national debate about whether women should be allowed to drive drunk in the United States.
On Tuesday, the Texas attorney general’s office announced that an investigation into the case has concluded.
Latham was booked on a charge of intoxication manslaughter and has been released from jail.
