The escort industry, which attracts tens of millions of women across the world, is dominated by men who are not just physically attractive but also skilled and experienced, the industry’s main advocate, Jillian Johnson, told TechRadaria.
“Women can do everything in their power to protect themselves, but they don’t have to,” Johnson said.
“It’s not an option, and it’s not acceptable.
The only option is to do everything you can to protect yourself.”
The industry has traditionally been a place where men could be seen as less threatening than women, but Johnson says the industry is now under threat from a new phenomenon, known as the “charlestellers”, who are mostly young, black men who use their physical attractiveness to attract women.
The charlesteller phenomenon was first spotted in New York in 2015 when the New York City Police Department launched a campaign called “Be the first to know when the police are on your block” to deter the behavior of young men in the city.
The department is also targeting escort workers in Florida, where the New Year’s Eve crowds are expected to be much smaller than those seen in other parts of the country.
In New York, police officers have been wearing bulletproof vests and body armor to deter charlestonescorts from assaulting women, and the department has been encouraging women to wear gloves to avoid contact with the officers, said Elizabeth Schafer, the assistant chief of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Services.
The Department of Justice also has issued a statement urging the use of video surveillance cameras and other technology in the industry.
Johnson says that while the charlesteels are threatening, the men are not.
“They are not threatening,” she said.
“I think what people need to remember is that they are not going to go to a charlestone for a sexual encounter.
They are going to a guy who will do what he needs to do to protect himself.
They will do that because he is a man who can take care of himself.”
The charellers are often described as a subculture in the sex trade, and they are often referred to as “escorts in disguise”, but the term refers to a wider group of men who act as escorts in the business, but do not go out of their way to solicit women’s bodies.
“We have people in this industry who want to look like men,” said Johnson.
“But I think that is the reality.”
The number of charellyes has dropped in recent years as they have become less physically threatening, and Johnson says that in order to keep the business safe, the charellers should stop using the word escort altogether.
“You should not call us escorts,” she explained.
“I know that is a very personal decision for some of them, but that is their choice.”
The majority of escorts are young men, and their attitudes towards women are often portrayed as the antithesis of that of the charenstellers.
The industry is still a place of fear and intimidation, but as a result of changing societal expectations and changing perceptions, the number of people involved in the escorts industry is declining.
