SAN JOSE (RTE) – An American woman who was killed by an alleged gang member in a New York apartment building is recovering from life-threatening injuries, her mother said.
Randy Thomas was in stable condition last week after undergoing emergency surgery at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, said his mother, Sandra Thomas, who added she had been told the family is hopeful of recovering her son.
“We are praying that Randy’s condition improves.
We are praying for her and hope she recovers,” she said.”
She’s not coming home, and I think she will be in hospital.
The reason we’re hopeful is that we’re not talking about anything that’s out of the ordinary.
We know we’re dealing with a very traumatic event and a very sad event, and we’re trying to move forward with her life as soon as possible.”
Ricky Thomas was stabbed by an unknown assailant in the apartment of a woman who had allegedly raped him on May 17, according to police sources.
Police are seeking to identify the man.
He has been described as a Hispanic man with a thin build and brown hair, and has short black hair, which he wore in a ponytail.
His identity has not been released.
